A late penalty from Riyad Mahrez was missed by Manchester City as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham United on Sunday.
Jarrod Bowen's first-half brace gave West Ham the lead, but Jack Grealish and Vladimir Coufal scored for City.
Lukasz Fabianski saved Mahrez's penalty late in the game, giving Liverpool hope in the title fight.
Pep Guardiola's team leads by four points with a game in hand over Liverpool.
"It's in our hands," Guardiola remarked postgame. A win would have been ideal but West Ham is in the Europa League and has had a fantastic season.
It's hard to play against and assault them. Great comeback We played well. They transition well.
"At halftime, we said, 'Don't quit.'" One goal and we're in. We scored early in the second half and had one chance after that... good outcome."
